I Received a Decision on My Protection Application
When UDI has processed your application for protection, you will receive a decision. The decision explains whether you have been granted protection and what rights and obligations apply to your situation.
If your application is approved, you will receive a residence permit. The decision will contain important information about your permit. You may also receive information about what happens next, including residence card and settlement arrangements.
If your application is rejected, your lawyer will normally inform you about the decision and help you understand your options. You normally have the right to appeal a rejection.
When you appeal, UDI will first consider whether it should change its decision. If UDI does not change the decision, the case may be sent to the Immigration Appeals Board (UNE) for consideration.
The decision letter is important. Read it carefully and follow the instructions and deadlines stated in the decision.
If you do not understand the decision, contact your lawyer or another qualified adviser as soon as possible.
