Housing in Poland
Preparing to rent, checking housing support and getting help with housing problems in Poland.
- Before you rent a home
Before committing to a rental, prepare a checklist: who is entitled to rent out the property, what the total monthly cost includes, how the deposit is handled and how the agreement ends. Keep written terms and payment records.
- Applying for a housing allowance
Dodatek mieszkaniowy is a housing allowance assessed using conditions including household income, accommodation costs and the dwelling’s area. It is not granted to every newcomer automatically.
- Getting help with a rental dispute
For a dispute about rent, a deposit or ending an agreement, gather the agreement, payment confirmations, messages and any handover records. Write down what happened and what outcome you are seeking.
