Request a transfer, keep correspondence working and coordinate healthcare, school and payments.
Ask before changing placement
Contact the centre administration or UdSC social-assistance department before a planned transfer. Explain the reasons and provide relevant evidence, such as treatment, accessibility, safety or family circumstances. Ask for written instructions or confirmation. A request does not guarantee approval, a chosen town or an immediate room; avoid treating a move as already authorised.
Report the actual address
Give the correct new residence and correspondence details to the authority handling the protection case and to the social-assistance department as required. Do not assume notifying one team automatically updates every record. Keep acknowledgements and monitor old and new delivery channels during the transition so that requests and decisions are not missed. For the social-assistance address record, the current UdSC page requests a signed notice by post, at its registry or through a centre employee; an ordinary email or scanned notice sent by email is not accepted.
Coordinate essential services
Confirm arrival and departure arrangements, transport and any reimbursement before spending money. Organise continuity of medicines and medical appointments. Inform the existing school and arrange the child’s new school place, returning loaned materials where required. Moving does not cancel interviews, reporting duties or deadlines in the protection procedure.
Check payments and urgent problems
Confirm the effect on assistance, collection arrangements and any decision for support outside the centre. If money or mail goes to the old address, report it promptly and request the appropriate correction. For immediate danger seek urgent assistance rather than waiting for a routine transfer request; for other problems keep written records and ask about the applicable complaint or appeal.
