Residence based on employment
Check whether the temporary residence and work permit fits your job, current residence status and employer.
Who this route is for
The single temporary residence and work permit combines a residence decision with authorisation for the employment specified in it. The ordinary route concerns eligible third-country nationals and is different from seasonal work, posting and the EU Blue Card. Check the exclusions for your current visa or residence category.
Documents to prepare
Prepare the application documents and employer attachment describing the job, pay, working time and contract. Check the applicable remuneration and health insurance conditions. The required pay and evidence depend on the procedure and current law; a job offer alone is not sufficient.
Applying and starting work
Use MOS where applicable, have the employer complete the required electronic attachment, sign and submit, and retain UPO. Attend the voivodeship office when summoned. An application receipt does not by itself authorise employment: verify your separate right to work while the case is pending.
If you lose or change your job
Read the conditions in your decision and promptly notify the issuing voivode in writing when employment ends, keeping delivery proof. Check the statutory notification deadline for your permit immediately. A new employer or changed conditions may require an amendment or a new permit before the new work is lawful. Do not assume a printed card permits unrestricted work for any employer.
