Finding work and checking an employer

Use official job services, prepare an application and check employers or agencies before accepting an offer.

Prepare your search

Write a short CV with experience, skills, languages and contact details. State your availability and describe your actual work-authorisation status without promising rights you do not have. Some regulated occupations require recognition of qualifications; an offer alone does not satisfy that requirement.

Use reliable channels

Search ePraca and EURES and contact the local powiatowy urząd pracy about services available to your category. Viewing vacancies does not automatically register you as unemployed or give entitlement to benefits. Tailor your CV to the role and confirm interview details through the employer’s own contact channel.

Check the offer

Confirm the company’s legal name, address and identifiers in CEIDG or KRS. For an employment agency, check its current KRAZ entry and relevant activity. Ask who will sign the contract, pay wages and arrange any required work notification or permit. Verify gross pay, hours, workplace and accommodation deductions in writing.

Avoid risky arrangements

Do not hand over your original passport for the employer to keep, share bank approval codes or pay for a guaranteed job or permit. Ask for the legal basis and written breakdown of any proposed fees; agency registration is not a guarantee of every offer. Keep the advert and correspondence, and check work rights and the written contract before starting.
